Dr. Batol Al-Mohisen, Director of the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women's Studies, along with a delegation of female academics, administrators, and students from Yarmouk University, participated in the inauguration of the project "Training Female Academics in Political Party Work in Universities," coordinated by the center and the Masarat Jordanian Foundation for Development and Advancement.
The center’s director took part in the panel discussion titled "The Role of Academic Institutions in Promoting a Culture of Political Participation," where she emphasized His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives to enhance the political empowerment of women and youth in Jordan through various programs and activities. She highlighted His Majesty's commitment to fostering a generation of students deeply engaged in political empowerment, which is crucial for achieving democratic and social development in societies.
She also affirmed that Yarmouk University—our great home—provides all the support and guidance necessary for us to fulfill our roles to the fullest under the leadership of Professor Islam Massad, the university president, who is known for his exceptional support and belief in the capabilities of women to hold decision-making positions within the university.
The center continuously organizes workshops and seminars to raise awareness about political and party life, with a current focus on a study aimed at identifying the challenges facing women in political and party life in Jordanian society.
