Training workshop entitled "The role of women in achieving peace and community security"

Training workshop entitled "The role of women in achieving peace and community security". The training workshop "The role of women in achieving peace and community security" was opened on Sunday 2/6/2024 and lasts for three days for a group of academics and administrations at the university, this training was organized by public security directorate, Preventive Security/Community Peace Center, in partnership with Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women's Studies/Yarmouk University.

The activities of the first day began with a speech from Lieutenant Colonel Omar Al-Khalailah, President of the Community Peace Center, in which he stressed the great role played by the center and its departments, in the presence of the working team: Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Al-Sukar, Captain Mohammed Al-Rabihat, Captain Mohammed Al-Gharaiba and First Lieutenant Alaa Al-Harasis, this is in the presence of Dr. Batool Al-muhassin, the director of princess Basma center for Jordanian women’s studies, then the first session starts the discussion about the establishment of the community peace center and its mechanism, then about the community peace from religious perspective, ultimately, concepts and terms related to extremist thought were explained through the reality and challenges of this thought. After that, the community peace center welcomes vice president of the university, Prof.Dr.samer Samarah, in the presence of the president’s assistant, Dr.Rami Malkawi, and the director of Princess Basma Center, Dr. Batool Al-Muhassin and its vicar Dr.Tariq AlNasser. The second day consists of 4 lectures; the first one is “Extremist character behavioral predictions” presented by the captain Saddam Al-Abaddi, he defined the extremism as “stay away from moderation, and get out of the ordinary” , in addition of extremism types and images and how to distinguish between its types. The second one is “the role of media in achieving community peace”. Presented by the major Ahmed Arbiat, head of media and public relations department in the community peace center. He talked about the establishment of the center and its departments, the importance of media in our daily lives, how to use it in extremism and terrorism,and how to counter rumors and obtain the correct information from its official and reliable source, in conclusion he talked about purposeful and hate media. The third lecture, "Electronic recruitment", presented by Captain Ibrahim Zriqat, talked about how people are recruited to terrorist organizations, and what are the characteristics of terrorists. Finally, the fourth lecture, "The role of the family in achieving community peace", presented by Lieutenant Alaa Al-Harasis, in which she talked about the role of the family in building a healthy society, and how we monitor our children to build a family together that serves the community.
